Two new Sandisk branded SSD hard drives are available for sale, the X100 and the Extreme SSD.
The Sandisk X100 is available in capacities from 32 GB to 512 GB and offers some pretty impressive specifications in line with many of the best SSD drives that we have been able to hands on test here at TRC Data Recovery. The X100 will also be available with a standard 2.5" notebook drive form factor but also Sandisk have mentioned that there will be custom form factors which will use an mSATA interface for ultra thin notebook applications.
The full specifications for the X100 can be found below:
Also announced is the Sandisk Extreme which Sandisk are touting as being 10 times faster than a standard 7200 RPM traditional hard drive. The Extreme will be available in only two capacities, 120 GB and 240 GB but a 480 GB version is due later on this year. The Extreme offers faster read and write speeds of 550MB/s and 520MB/s respectively.
TRC Data Recovery provide recovery services for many Sandisk devices. The X100 hasn't landed in our labs yet, but as soon as it does we will be assessing the recovery options in detail. You can read about some of the work that we do with failed solid state devices
